The National Pony Summer Championship at the Three Counties Showground Malvern at the beginning of August 2011 was the perfect occasion for the launch of Tom Best’s History of the British Riding Pony. The book was enthusiastically received; the author’s reputation in the horse and pony world and the fact that no such comprehensive history has hitherto existed, ensured that the queue for signed copies was a long one!
