Greenwich and The London River was launched in style on Thursday 17 May 2012 at Greenwich University.
The Mayor of Greenwich, Cllr Jim Gillman made a lively speech and a fine sales pitch (he used to be in the publishing business!). The author Paul Tempest described the book – 40 years in the making – and outlined his views on the future of the River Thames and the Greenwich area.
The manager and staff of John Smith Bookshop put on a great show, sales were brisk and there was unanimous praise for this new, comprehensive and entertaining book on one of London’s most vibrant and historic areas.
